Objectives / Philosophy

Saint Elizabeth High School is a Catholic Diocesan high school that accepts the beliefs of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the call to proclaim and give witness to the Gospel. The community of Saint Elizabeth High School believes:

• that education has the power to liberate

• that parents are the primary educators of their children

• that teachers are the facilitators of learning

• that students recognize and act upon the conviction that each person, gifted by God, is ultimately responsible for his or her own growth

• that students with limited economic means, differing religious beliefs, or varying academic ability should have access to a Catholic education

• that students are vested with dignity, worth, and value; are empowered by God to attain their potential and to contribute in a positive way to church and society

• that we are interdependent with local, national and global communities.

SCHOOLWIDE LEARNING EXPECTATIONS

Supporting the concept that students are best served by a challenging curriculum, our academic program provides a base from which all students will:
• Act as the primary agents in there own learning.
• Show progress towards specific goals as laid out in required courses of study.
• Demonstrate oral and written communication skills, which will enable the student to integrate successfully into a post high-school environment.
• Be able to question and communicate analytically, critically, creatively, and effectively.
• Understand the role of technology in their lives as well as in the learning process.
